Message of Head

Dear University Candidates,

I would like to give you information about biomedical engineering and introduce our department during the career choice phase, which is one of the steps that will shape your future.

Biomedical engineering is a field that acts as a bridge between medicine, biology and engineering. We expect our students who want to study and work in this field to have high numerical skills as well as an interest in living systems. For example, it is within our field of interest to obtain information about the operation of living systems and to analyze or transfer them using engineering methods.

Since biomedical engineers work on issues directly related to human health, great opportunities, opportunities and responsibilities await them, both materially and spiritually. There is a lack of trained manpower in the field of biomedical engineering in our country. Therefore, we expect our highly qualified students, who will lead the development of this field, to choose this field.

A large part of the medical device industry in our country is externally dependent. Biomedical engineers, who know, design and operate medical devices best due to their infrastructure, will increasingly have a say in the medical device industry and will be in a position to direct this industry.

Erciyes University is one of the distinguished research universities in our country. In addition, as our department is the first department established within a state university that provides undergraduate education in this field in our country, we have undertaken the role of leading our country in this regard. As a requirement of this responsibility, we want to bring the best-educated young people of our country to our department. Thus, together, we can provide the service that our country expects and deserves in this strategic area, in a shorter time.

In order to increase the employment opportunities of our graduates, we have double major and minor programs with other engineering departments, especially Electrical-Electronics and Computer Engineering. Thus, it is possible for our students to graduate from departments close to biomedical engineering and receive two diplomas or certificates. In addition, pursuing an academic career both at home and abroad will be a serious alternative for our graduates.

Erciyes University Biomedical Engineering Department has been producing graduates since the 2012 academic year. Master's and PhD programs were opened in our department in 2008 and have been continuing successfully for years.

Our faculty members working in our department work on biomedical device and system development, biomedical system and signal analysis, biomedical imaging and image processing, biosensor development and application, nanotechnological structures and applications, biomaterials and biomechanics, as well as artificial intelligence systems that improve diagnosis and treatment processes. This wide field of work we have makes our department strong at an advanced level. We recommend you to review our website for more detailed information about our academic staff and biomedical engineering.

The subjects within the wide range of biomedical engineering seem exciting to you and if you want to work in these areas, you should choose our department. We thank you for your interest in our department and wish you success.
